East Wick
It’s officially Fair season! The beginning of this season brings one of our favorite things: featuring Makers we’re falling in love with. This year, London is kicking off our Spring/Summer season and since it’s still a little snowy and chilly here in Chicago, we’re featuring a hot new Maker, East Wick.
East Wick candles and melt bars are hand poured in small batches, all from Roxi’s little kitchen in East London. Simplicity is their mantra, using all natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and a blend of paraben-free fragrance oils and essential oils to create luxury scents. The best part? East Wick is vegan friendly, and their packaging is minimal, recyclable and reusable.
Roxi has always loved candles but, her asthma could never handle some of the overpowering scents, and the smoke from the flame. Once she discovered soy wax, she became dead set in creating a candle she could love.
Roxi’s months of researching, making, and testing of different waxes, containers, wicks, and oils transformed her DIY Spirit from hobbyist to professional. It wasn’t long until her candle company was established. The name “East Wick” was born from Roxi’s roots in East London, and her slight obsession with witches. Needless to say, we’re big fans.
East Wick designs exclusive scent combinations through experimentation and testing. Roxi tries to create mixtures of refreshing, sweet and earthy scents, but mostly she just wants people to sigh in pure content when they smell them. She loves the process of hand making each candle, but also the science and the routine behind each one.
Roxi’s love of monochrome is beautifully combined with simple shapes and lines in her product design. She has also strived to keep her packaging and branding gender-neutral.
East Wick believes that candles are things that everyone can enjoy, which is absolutely true!
We cannot wait to smell all of East Wick’s candles and scents at our London Spring Fair this April! Take a look at the East Wick website and pick out your favorites now. It will be far too easy to buy one of each! In the meantime, learn more about this Maker and see behind the scenes on their Instagram.
