Made For Each Other
Today we are featuring the stunning work of Made For Each Other (We Are MFEO). The duo will be selling their wooden wares at our LA Holiday Market this weekend at the sunny Grand Park in Downtown LA. Be sure to stop by, because it is our last fair of the year!
M.F.E.O. is a small design-based business launched by Aaron and Claire Van Holland. With a love of mid-century modern and a shared interest in living a more sustainable lifestyle, the couple decided to create their home living collection.
Claire moved from her hometown in Michigan to Los Angeles and after several years working in digital media, she could no longer ignore the growing desire to express her creative side. A variety of handcrafting courses led Claire to her preferred medium of choice, metal – which is currently inspired by font treatments and symmetry.
Aaron learned the value of hand-craftsmanship at an early age. Growing up on the family farm in Oregon imparted a resilient work ethic while century old barns and rusty farm machinery formed his appreciation for utilitarian design.
Stars quickly aligned for the new venture when Aaron’s grandfather offered them his dilapidated century old barn as a material resource. M.F.E.O. was born, a joint effort to handcraft sustainably sourced materials into timeless pieces for the home. The family barn is still featured in many of M.F.E.O.’s designs.
M.F.E.O. has created an expansive collection of wood and metal goods, ranging from furniture pieces and geometric mirrors, to lighting fixtures, serveware and so much more! Many of Aaron and Claire’s products are crafted out of salvaged wood, and are inspired by nature’s finest monuments. We love seeing how Oregon’s Haystack Rock’s influenced the design duo’s Monolith Bookends.
We’ve had our eye on this Jungalow plant hanger which was a collaboration between M.F.E.O. x Justina Blakeney for some time now. We can’t wait to see it in person!
We are so thrilled Made For Each Other will be joining us at Grand Park for our LA Holiday Market this weekend! Be sure to check out all of their pristinely designed products on their website and stop by their booth to say hello! Plus, follow them on Instagram and Twitter to stay in the know. See you all soon!!!
