A Self Care Routine You Can *Actually* Stick To
The phrase “self care” has been buzzing so loudly that we can barely make out what it means: is it cancelling plans and contemplating existence under a weighted blanket? Paying an overdue credit card bill? A visit to the Korean spa? What we do know is what works for us, and we think (hope! wish!) it will work for you. It’s a little TLC at the end of the day, nothing extravagant, a moment to simply wind down, put down the constant scroll, and mindfully check in with ourselves. Tried and true, each product is recommended by our team, and made by artists we trust and admire.
1. Daughter of the Land Iris + Rosehips Bath Soak
Consider this an upgrade to the jumbo bag of Epsom Salt that has been sitting in your bathroom for over a year. Made with organic rosehips, jasmine, and French grey salts – and not to mentioned packaged in a recycled yet top-self-worthy tube – this soak smells almost as delicious as it feels. Perfect for baths or foot soaks, the mixture helps aid in rejuvenating skin.
2. Wandering Bud Pearl Chillum
Perhaps it’s one of those days that relaxing will take more than the smell of jasmine and rosehips. Dainty and pretty, this chillum is the perfect companion in slowing down.
Buy it: Wandering Bud Pearl Chillum, $48
3. Btween Spaces Frosted Cloud Candle
Sandalwood, lily of the valley, ambergris: this candle *smells* like self care. Made without paraffin and with quality and natural ingredients, we recommend lighting this candle to get into a mindful state of appreciation.
4. Everyday Oil Mainstay Blend
A team favorite, this oil is like an evening coffee. It’s a delightful treat to look forward to that will make you feel and smell like you spent the day forest bathing.
5. Tippecanoe Herbs Forager’s Broth Boost
A lot of what we consider self care is really just looking out for our future selves, so this immune system boosting mixture of herbs, mushrooms, and kelp is our go-to. One cup of this small-batch, hand-foraged broth keeps us healthy all winter long.
Buy it: Tippecanoe Herbs Forager’s Broth Boost, 4 oz for $15
6. Herbivore Botanicals Jade Facial Roller
While we can’t verify that jade has brought us peace and harmony as it’s thought to, we can confirm that this helps with post-catharsis puffy eyes and tense jaws. Keep it in the freezer for maximum effect!
Buy it: Herbivore Botanicals Jade Facial Roller, $30
7. Bathing Culture Cosmic Rainbow Towel
Wrap yourself up in this cozy hand-loomed towel and feel your worries melt away. The perfect ending to an evening of self care, whatever that means for you. ☻
